Kale is the eldest sibling to his clutch mate Raz and their adopted younger sister Apricot. A hardworking, stoic Terran with special training as a Royal Guard, Kale's found himself the personal adviser to the Royal Terran Family for over 8 season cycles. Starting off as any other adviser to King Hardstone and the Queens, he found himself not only boosted to their personal and most trusted adviser, but also gradually integrated into their family as an uncle figure, especially to the youngest prince Stone Skipper. Dedicated to his work (almost to a fault, some days working late into the nights and depriving himself of much needed rest) Kale has proven himself to be a beneficial asset to the Terran heirarchy, being both a filter for anything being taken before the King and Queens to helping organizing events such as the Harvest Bonfire and the seasonly Tournament. His dedication has not come without sacrifice though, as he's become withdrawn from his siblings and family; constantly working and very difficult to find time to spend with outside of his job.

Kale was the result of a three parent family; two fathers and a mother, with all three having served in the Spider War before he was born. Born from a small clutch of two by his two fathers, both him and his younger brother Raz were raised on stories of glory and sacrifice by their family. While Raz went on to foster a very overt protectiveness of his friends and family (especially his baby sister Apricot), Kale gleaned a desire to be beneficial to the Grotto just as his parents had in their conflicts against the Spinners. He simply couldn't stand the idea of being another guard, farmer, or excavator for the Grotto, so he worked as hard as was possible to try and make a difference. His big chance came when the previous head adviser; an old Terran even older than Hardstone himself, had finally decided to step down and leave the royal court. With an advisory position opened up, Kale took it upon himself to impress the Royals and become a part of something greater. With a fire in his eyes and resolve in his heart, Kale sought out the Royals directly in a less than regal manner (In the Royal Court itself), much to the chagrin of Opal Crest upon his rude entry. Bemused at his straightforwardness, Hardstone promised that Kale could only have the position should he fight against his dear wife Opal, and without missing a beat Kale readily agreed. The fight was painfully fast the poor Terran being easily bested in the Royal Sparring Grounds by Opal (who he later found out was going all out for the sake of reprimanding him for his interruption earlier). Dejected and defeated, Kale made move to leave only to find his exit blocked by none other that Hardstone himself, a boisterous laugh ringing out as he stated "I never said you had to win to get the job, boy."

After getting the job, Kale gained his title as the Baron, climbing the ranks over the cycles as his dedication and resourcefulness proved to impress not only his advisory peers, but Hardstone and the Queens as well. The Royals soon came to accept Kale into their family, most of this due to his caring of Stone Skipper's egg at the command of Opal (who simply did not like sitting around on an egg) early on in his career. Stone Skipper after hatching took a special shine to his 'uncle' Kale for various reasons, and was the first to pile on Kale at night since his becoming an adviser. While Stone remained the most frequent to Kale's night piles as the cycles went on, Magnus would join the pair on occasion as well. Kale holds a special affection for all of Hardstone's children, but Stone Skipper especially so, finding him almost like a son. His relations with the children are mostly positive, many of them being generally accepting of their 'uncle' Kale with the rare exception here and there. While his relations with the Royals have grown stronger over the cycles, his relations with his original family have become steadily more and more sparse. While he still adores his kid siblings Raz and Apricot with all his heart, finding time to spend with them became difficult as he progressed through the ranks; Royal affairs demanding more and more of his attention as time went on, especially in recent cycles of absolute political chaos with the resurgance of not only Spinners, but the additions of two entirely new species; the Dawnweavers and the Lashers, to the Grotto.
His job continues to keep Kale busy through the days, but he's finally begun to feel like he's fulfilling his desire to benefit the Grotto. Not only has he helped in organizing permanent accommodation for the Grotto's newest residents, he's also found himself smitten with a Terran whom he assumes only he knows about (he doesn't) and hopes to one day court should the chance arise. While still working himself to exhaustion from time to time, he finds solace in the fact he's being a benefit and that any amount of personal sacrifice is worth it in the end for the betterment of his home and its residents. Maybe someone will be able to convince himself to care more for his own well being someday.

Extra Info:
-Kale prefers to walk whenever he can. While not embarassed of them, he finds that his wings can become an incredible distraction to others while he flies, and who can really blame them with with the fact his wings glint and shimmer almost like glass from a potion bottle?
-The crack in his chest armour was an injury received during his final initiation into the Royal Guard. As if to spite Kale specifically, Opal had a special 'challenge' brought in with the help of the Dawnweaver's current leader and animal wrangler; Reina. The Bushcat she had somehow managed to capture proved to be a brutal challenge to face with his team, but Kale managed to command their way to victory with the most damage being to himself.
-In his early life, Kale was bullied by adolescent Terrans due to his larger than average size (which meant he'd be weak later in life and a failure as a Terran, at least that's what they said.) While the bullying abruptly ended with a fight instigated by Raz that lead to them getting their tails handed to them, Kale to this day holds a deep down desire to prove them wrong.
-Kale has a piece of quartz that he found with Raz and Apricot when they were younger; the scrappy little Skimmer having convinced them both to go exploring outside the safety of the Grotto grounds. A bad idea, yes, especially considering they stumbled upon the nest of an extremely angry mother spider in the end, but it's still one of his dearest possesions to this day.
